Ahh…Spring is finally here after a long and snowy winter. And the first big holiday weekend of the camping season is right around the corner. Here’s a sampling of the Easter activities at several Jellystone Park™ Campgrounds. Check the calendar at your favorite locations to see what they have planned.
Head to Memphis for a weekend of traditional Easter activities like an egg hunt and egg dyeing. There will also be a spoon race (can you keep your egg on the spoon?!) and a coloring contest.
Jellystone Park in Fremont, Indiana is hosting an Easter Egg-stravaganza complete with an egg hunt and egg decorating. Kids will love to see live baby chicks and bunnies, and the whole family can fill up on free pancakes! And don’t forget your swimsuit because the indoor pool will be open.
For a fun twist, the Jellystone Park in Hagerstown, Maryland is hosting an egg hunt for adults only. The eggs contain valuable prizes like store coupons and game room tickets. The hunt takes place once the sun goes down, which makes it extra competitive!
In the south, Canyon Lake, Texas has a special flashlight hunt for older kids, plus crafts and pancakes. While you’re there, check out the progress on the new swimming pool (set to open this summer) and take a warm dip in the heated indoor pool.
Experience a German Easter Celebration in Frankenmuth, MI , dubbed “Michigan’s Little Bavaria.” Once a year in the area of Franconia Germany one will find many wells, trees, buildings and fountains richly decorated with colored Easter eggs, pine-branch garland and spring flowers. This tradition of decorating Easter Fountains in Germany is over 200 years old and many cities and villages in Franconia Germany still follow this tradition. Since Franconia is the area from which Frankenmuth’s early settlers originated, they mirror the Osterbrunnen tradition.
So clean out the RV, dust off your tent or book a cabin and head to Jellystone Park to celebrate Easter and welcome the warm weather!
