Hiking
Some Jellystone Park campgrounds have hiking trails right on property. Take an afternoon hike and discover the trees, flowers and animals indigenous to the region, along with breath-taking views.
Geocaching
Geocaching is a modern day treasure hunt – a geocaching app is your map and your sense of adventure is your guide. The “treasure” is usually a small trinket but the real fun is in finding it and feeling connected to the people who left it. Find out more on our geocaching page.
Birdwatching
Turn your kids into birdbrains. Spotting and identifying birds can be fun and educational for the whole family. Take along a pair of binoculars and a notepad for writing down the birds you see and their characteristics. Be creative and make it fun – you could make a game out of searching for the state bird. Or start with a targeted list of birds and turn it into a scavenger hunt.
